That’s what this journal is about.
Here, I’ll share thoughts on design, atmosphere, and the invisible layers that shape the way we experience spaces. I’m drawn to imperfect materials, objects with history, and the quiet drama that unfolds when contrasts meet — light and shadow, soft and hard, old and new.
This isn’t about trends or fast design. It’s about something slower — spaces that reveal themselves over time- from a Scandinavians point of view.
I’m an interior architect and furniture designer, mother of two, living in a 1950s architect designed house where I’ve been lucky enough to play around — preserving the original, blending old with new. I share the house with my partner, who patiently helps carry out all my wild ideas and make them come to life. Then he retreats to the golf course - where he spends hours in a perfectly creativity-free zone, chasing tiny white balls.
Professionally I work across commercial spaces, workplaces, hospitality, retail, and private homes — always chasing strong concepts and stories worth telling. I’m a concept junkie at heart.
I also hold additional studies in sustainability, believing deeply in the power we hold as designers — in every surface we choose, every piece we reuse, and the way we mix old and new without compromising the aesthetics.
Lately, I’ve lost some confidence in my own voice within the field. This journal is my way of finding it again. I hope. Maybe I’ll share more of this one day.
My intention with Substack is for it to be a quiet space to reconnect with what I love — and to meet others with the same passion. Those who believe in sharing, in lifting each other, in creating without fear. If you’re here, maybe you’re one of them.
For now, I’ll leave it at that. Let’s see where this goes.
